Process Engineer

We are highly educated world experts in satellite space propulsion, pioneering the field of streamlined in-orbit propulsion for the rising satellite constellation paradigm. We help our clients in the US, Europe, and Asia, to manoeuvre satellites in space while meeting their short timelines and cost-capped budgets. The company made history in 2019 and 2020 with the world's first in-orbit demonstrations of iodine-fueled electric propulsion systems, and is currently experiencing strong growth, with over 200 systems ordered to date. We are dedicated to shaping the future of space technology and are seeking an Process Engineer to join our team.

As Process Engineer at ThrustMe, you will oversee the development and the industrialisation of new and existing advanced processes. You will work on challenging industrialization problems, in which structures and components are subject to extreme thermal, vibration and shock environments. By joining the Product Development Team, you will be at the interface between cutting edge research and mass production, turning novel concepts into flight-ready systems.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Lead new processes design from the conceptual to industrialisation phase (mechanical assembly, PCB manufacturing, soldering, metal and ceramic manufacturing).
  • Optimization of the existing processes to address main production constrains (assembly time, quality, cost).
  • Define process specifications based on the industry standards (ECSS, IPC, ISO, etc) and lead the communication with external suppliers.
  • Manage processes and critical suppliers’ qualification campaigns.
  • Document with technical reports all processes development and testing for internal, clients and industry publications.
  • Collaborate with engineers and physicists in the industrialization of ground-breaking products.

 

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in material, mechanical, electro-mechanical, or aerospace engineering.
  • 2+ years’ experience as a process or industrialisation engineer.
  • Strong knowledge of process developments based on standards (material manufacturing, mechanical assembly).
  • Experience with mechatronic equipment/PCB assembly (soldering) is as strong asset.
  • Experience in CAD and technical drawings (Solidworks/Catia/Inventor/etc) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with specific aerospace qualification standards is a plus.
  • Communicates in English fluently. French is a plus (A2 level or more).
