Head of Space Operations

ThrustMe is a fast-growing startup in the space sector, founded in 2017. We are experts in satellite space propulsion, pioneering the field of in-orbit propulsion for the rising satellite constellation paradigm. The company made history in 2019 and 2020 with the world's first in- orbit demonstrations of iodine-fuelled electric propulsion systems, bringing the technologies that revolutionize the space industry. As of today, we are still the only company mastering the technology, having dozens of systems in space and hundreds of them built.

ThrustMe is looking for a Head of Space Operation Support leading the Space Operation Support team and being responsible for ensuring flawless operation of the entire fleet. We expect the head to lead by example, mastering both deep technical and management skills. Your team will work on the support of flight units, communication with end users, validation campaigns at ground facilities, and ensure regular feedback to the production and development teams.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Manage the Space Operation Support team.
• Ensure continuous support for the propulsion systems operating in space.
• Provide regular feedback to the production and development teams.
• Plan and execute on-ground experimental campaigns to support debugging and R&D activities.
• Develop and maintain appropriate data collection, storage and analysis processes.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Masters or PhD in embedded software, aerospace engineering, propulsion, physics, or similar.
• Solid understanding of complex embedded systems, ideally with knowledge of fundamental engineering and space propulsion related subjects.
• Excellent grasp of fundamental physics.
• Good data processing, data analytics, and modelling foundation.
• Knowledge/experience in electronics and/or multidisciplinary skills.
• Proven strong leadership skills, ability to setup team-work and efficient brainstorming.
• Ability to motivate, work autonomously and proactively.
• Technical writing and reporting skills.
• Soft skills: conflict management, working under pressure, being passionate.
